Joining SWAP!

Are you looking to get involved in sustainability initiatives on campus? You may be a perfect fit for SWAP. Please get in touch with us to see if we are recruiting for the semester!

The current SWAP Leadership Team is comprised of four co-owners with unique responsibilities. We are always looking to expand our team to include new members so that we can make a greater impact on the WashU community. Check out some of our expectations, perks, and positions we offer.

Some things to consider:

  • As a non-profit, SWAP is a big commitment. We place a high value on the tight-knit nature of our small group, as it enables us to foster deeper connections among its members. Because of that, those joining SWAP need to be dedicated, hardworking members. While we recognize students have other involvements on campus, we ask that before applying to join SWAP you consider how we might fit into your schedule and whether or not you are able to be an active member of our team.

Perks of joining SWAP:

  • Business experience in a collaborative non-profit atmosphere

  • Leadership skills useful in any environment

  • A student mentor with experience in non-profit management

  • No cost to gain involvement as a business owner (Other StEP businesses typically require a large buy-in fee to become part of their leadership)

  • Networking exposure with other students, WashU faculty, and St. Louis community members

  • Contribute to an important cause in the St. Louis area

  • Early move-in and late move-out covered by SWAP

As a part of SWAP, you are expected to:

  • Attend all team meetings

  • Run weekly storefront hours

  • Be available for early Move-In Sale and late Move-Out Collection

  • Plan/lead monthly SWAP events
