Move-In Sale
Why Buy New, When You Can Buy Reused?
The Swamp Sale is our annual fall move-in sale, where students can buy secondhand dorm supplies for affordable prices. At the end of each school year during move-out, college students accumulate a ton of waste. Rather than throwing away items they no longer need, SWAP collects and stores these items over the summer for the next incoming freshman. Dorm supplies include mini-fridges, microwaves, shelves, bed risers, storage bins, shower caddies, laundry hampers, and more.
Why choose us over Target/Walmart?
Easy! There are a couple of reasons: (1) we sell our items at half the price these department stores are selling them at, reducing the financial barriers for new students in need of dorm essentials, (2) by reusing something someone else no longer needs, we’re able to keep usable items out of the landfills longer, and (3) you would be shopping locally, helping a student non-profit uphold their mission.
The money made from this sale goes directly toward maintaining our Trading Post, where we are able to give away smaller-ticketed items such as clothing, books, shoes, and school supplies for FREE throughout the semester!
